What moves a job inside the range
- Door weight and size. An insulated 16×8 needs bigger springs than a hollow 9×7.
- One spring or two. Both springs on a double door, when they're the same age.
- Coastal-grade hardware. Galvanized springs and cables east of I-95 cost a bit more and last years longer.
- Cables at the same time. Frayed cables replaced during a spring job cost less than a second visit.
- Timing. After-hours emergencies add $50 to $100. Daytime calls don't.
Five lines that should make you hang up
- "$29 service call" in the adThe $29 is the trip. The repair starts at $400 once they're in your garage. Ask for the repair price on the phone.
- "Your spring system is rare, we'll have to special-order"Every standard door uses standard springs. Trucks carry them. This line exists to justify a second visit or a huge markup.
- "The whole door needs to be replaced"About 8 in 10 of these are a spring or cable repair. Ask what specifically failed and why the rest of the door can't be saved.
- "Hurricane-proof springs"Springs aren't rated for wind. There is no such product. A Florida homeowner was charged $2,000 for them.
- A price that changes once the work startsBait-and-switch is illegal in Florida. Get the flat price in writing, or on a text, before anyone picks up a tool.
Questions about pricing
Because the number one complaint about garage door companies in Palm Beach County is the price surprise. If you know what fair looks like before you call, you can't be surprised. That's the whole business model.
They're the ranges that cover almost every job we do. Your quote is one number inside the range, given before we start, and it doesn't move. Where a job falls depends on door weight, spring size, coastal-grade hardware and whether cables need replacing at the same time.
Phone estimates are free, always. On-site diagnosis is free when we do the repair. If we come out and you decide not to proceed, the trip is $79.
On new doors and openers, yes. Ask when you call and we'll walk you through the options for your quote.
Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty. Our labor is covered too: if a repair we made fails, the return visit is on us, not at emergency rates. Ask for the current terms in writing with your quote.
